-If we do not teach our children to follow God,
the world will teach them not to........

Week of: May 22, 2017
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the last week of school! I know many of us are ready for summer break and to not have the busy schedules. We are ready to pause for a moment and take a deep breath! I know children are not going to want to do any school work over the summer, but please keep them reading, practicing cursive, and continuing their math facts for multiplication/division. It will be worth it in the fall! :)
I am very proud of all of the students for their animal reports/research! The presentations have begun and I am impressed with the hard work the children did. We will continue the oral reports this coming week.
For Field Day on 5/23, we are asking that each student send in $2 for the slushy machine that will be at Whitney Field. These monies can come in at any time and I will collect them and send it to the office. Please let me know if you are unable to do this and I will cover the cost so that all students have a treat. Also, remember on field day we are having the class pizza party. Your child will need a drink for lunch and Mrs. Bogner and I will provide pizza. If your child does not like pizza, they are welcome to bring in a lunch of their own or purchase one from the cafeteria. This day includes running and outdoor activities during field day, so shorts and t-shirts are permitted; athletic shoes are required.
Looking ahead into May, the following dates are important to know:
5/23: Field Day for elementary students
5/26: Last day for students; early release at 12:30pm. I was informed there will be busing for students, but they will have to wait in the cafeteria until the regular pickup time of 3:10pm or later, even if we have an early release at 12:30pm.
6/2 -6/9 : Time frame final grade cards will be mailed out once all grades are recorded and information is gathered for next year's supply lists, etc.
Very proud of Peyton B., Taegen M.B., and Paige M.! They were teacher of the day this week and earned class money all school year! Bella G. earned a full size candy bar for saving her money; great job!
Have a wonderful summer; be safe and God bless!
